The next census is due to take place in Ireland on 18 April 2021 and it's going to be an interesting one. As the Independent have pointed out, "Eight new questions will appear on the form in total. These will be on topics such as renewable energy sources, smoking, internet access and devices, smoke alarms, working from home, volunteering, childcare and travelling home from work, school or college." However, what arguably will be most interesting for future generations is the "Time Capsule" box in which those who complete the form can "write a voluntary and confidential message of their choice, which will be securely stored for 100 years."
